The Frog, taught by Marcia Robbins, is a cut, enameled goose egg coated with 5 layers of various finishes. You will learn to make the “enameled” lily pad for your jeweled frog, paint filigree, and arrange flowers to create your own pond. Flowers will vary in each kit, but all are equal quality, and you will have extras to make it truly your own design. Scrolls on the egg are covered with 5 gross of crystals, and the base and Corian are also decorated with flowers and crystal chain.

SUMMER SENSATION FLOWER BASKET is taught by Janie Blair.  This is designed for the 1st Texas “Sisterhood of the Traveling Eggers.  In this kit you will receive a precut Emu egg basket…….the basket is pre-painted in dazzling pearl white. You will be embellishing it with gold chain, rhinestone chain, and a completely new triple rhinestone chain on the handle. You will first be making the flower bouquet separately from a bundle of Lucite leaves and flowers, pearls, rhinestone chain & flowers, crystal rhinestones, gold plated filigree and assorted chain drops. You will have an opportunity to paint the Lucite flowers with nail polish which gives in a rich look. There is a small bouquet on the back and the ends are encrusted with gold leaves and a single flower. The interior is lined with black and silver sparkle velvet and trimmed with more gold chain and sawtooth braid. You will also be building your own stand from a ceramic lattice base, a large gold filigree and a resin column….it will be topped with an oval filigree to attach the basket. The whole project is encrusted in jewels and full of glitz and glamour. If you have a color you are partial to, please let me know…….I will TRY and bring the appropriate colors with me, but no guarantees due to limited room flying all the supplies to Texas. The basic colors of this project are spring green, olive green, white and a variety of pinks. You may not finish the whole project while at the retreat, but you will receive detailed instructions and photos.

THE MIDNIGHT SWAN

by Diana Macias.  You will transform an emu egg into a glamorous swan.  The egg will be ready for you to complete.  You will be using a variety of “blingy” embellishments to ‘glitz’ it up and lots of cording.  Once completed the swan will perch on a beautiful base that you will adorn with roses and more bling!  You may not finish in class.

NO HOMEWORK.  Please bring RETs and be sure to include small sharp scissors, heavy tacky glue or your favorite glue, chain cutters, stone picker upper.  It would be helpful to have an individual lamp.
